We both headed out to Kawaii-kon this past weekend and got to see the Monkey-Ame gals who were selling their first doujinshi! The beautiful cover was done by Mayumi and can be seen here. I'm not sure if they are going to be selling it online or not, but if you're interested I'm sure they would if you email one of them.
It was great to see long time cartooning buddy Jon J. Murakami in the dealers room selling his "hot off the press" comic "Gordon Rider". I'll do a scan of the cover and post it later. The comic is about the adventures of Jon's pal Gordon and their romps at local Gashapon and Scale Model shop MechaHawaii. Anyone who has seen Jon's work knows that his stuff is incredibly good and this piece is no exception. Jon and Gordon signed copies of their comic right next to the MechaHawaii booth!
Across the way Kitsy was chatting it up with PMBQ of Tea Club fame. It was great to finally meet her and chat! Mr. Bear and Co. had a wide assortment of things for sale at the Kon but by the time Kitsy and I got there most were gone! But Kitsy still managed to get 2 shirts for herself .
Perhaps if there is a following for nemu-nemu we can make it to the Kon next year. But for now we're hard at work on the next set of strips...
