Recovering

Hi folks,

Thanks so much for all the well-wishes via messages, e-mails, voice mails, and tweets! I have been well on the road to recovery over this past weekend, regularly taking my pain meds, drinking lots of water and catching up on some reading (and some TV...)

I'm glad I made it home for the surgery instead of opting to stay in San Jose, allowing us both to rest up properly post-operation. Things went smoothly, although initially coming out of the anesthesia-induced slumber was rather painful. I was in the recovery room for a few extra hours while they upped my dosage of pain meds until I was comfortable. They sent me home that night and I even sat through a dinner of udon at a restaurant. o_o;

I've been predominantly bed-ridden for the past couple days, my abdomen slowly healing and the muscles getting stronger each day. I have 3 scars - a large one on my belly-button (where they conducted most of the surgery) and a couple smaller incisions near my hip bones that are currently held together with surgi-tape. (They all sting when I take a shower, unfortunately.)

I have my follow-up appointment with the doctor on Wednesday, but during a quick phone call he said all is well. ^^

I hope to be back to working speed by mid-week. (I have so much to catch up on, it's almost overwhelming...) I thank everyone who is helping me out with a guest strip (or two!) and been so supportive during this tough time for both of us!

Also, hello to all the new readers from Fanime! I'm sorry you're joining us at such an awkward time! Please bear with me a little while longer while I get things back in gear!
