iRead Webcomics!

0 Ish Good!

Celebrating the 2008 Teen Summer Reading Program, I am proud to announce that KS and I will be hitting 20 libraries across the State of Hawaii to talk about:

iRead Webcomics: The New Frontier of Comics

We are planning a 45 minute presentation, discussing some of the basics of webcomics, our process, and a short visual demonstration of my tips, tricks, and techniques! The program is free for the public, recommended for ages 12 and up (although all ages are welcome!). Feel free to visit us at any of our stops, bring your questions, and say "hi!"

We will also be bringing copies of our books along with us if you'd like to purchase them directly from us (and save on shipping! :D).

For Oahu folks, grab this PDF flier of all the libraries we will be hitting - dates, times, and locations!
(Note that our presentation at the McCully-Moiliili Branch has been moved back to 4:30pm, but all other dates and times hold steady!)

For neighbor island folks, we will be hitting your shores from June 24-26th!

Big Island - June 24th
* Thelma-Parker (Kamuela) Library: 11:00am
* Kailua-Kona Library: 4:00pm

Kauai - June 25th
* Lihue Library: 12:00pm
* Hanapepe Library: 3:00pm

Maui - June 26th
* Kahului Library: 2:30pm
* Wailuku Library: 6:30pm

We hope to see you there! Feel free to pass this information on to people who you think may be interested in attending!

Also a bit more great news! Our books will soon be available at BestSellers Book Shops (Downtown Honolulu and Waikiki) and Borders Books and Music - Ward!

I'm still hoping to get our books into more shops, so stay tuned!

...and because we've been seriously lacking in the avatar department as of late:

All of our past avatars can also be found at our photobucket gallery!

Have a great weekend everyone!

    I just saw this flier at Kaneohe library and did a happy dance. :) Nemu-nemu is everywhere~! You guys rock!

    Almost everywhere. I've noticed nothing for the Ewa or Waianae libraries yet.

    Kitsy used to do coloring for Marvel and Antartic? Which titles and when?

    Masako: Yay! It's cool to hear that the fliers have been posted and word is getting out! :D

    Wen: Indeed - There's actually 51 libraries state-wide, and with only a month and a half alloted for the summer reading program, 20 was about the most we could handle. Not all libraries put requests in, but we tried to accommodate as many that did.

    As for my coloring gigs - I did a couple issues of JTF-3 CounterOps under Antarctic Press in late 2003-early 2004. I also colored backgrounds for a few New X-men issues (collected in the X-men: Day of the Atom GN) and Amazing Fantasy #2-3 (later became Arana) under Udon Entertainment in mid-late 2004.

    So I guess your plan is total domination of Hawaii, huh?
