Rakugaki Fun at McCully Library

0 Ish Good!

Greetings all!

Thank goodness it's Friday! @_@ Today, I'm looking forward to the start of the Friends of the Library Book Sale taking place at the McKinley High School cafeteria. It's a highlight of ours every year - we're always on the look out for good reference books. :D

Speaking of libraries, we just had our talk at McCully-Moiliili Library, hosted by the illustrious YA librarian, Hillary Chang. :D As we started earlier in the evening, the crowd was a little small - but everyone who attended participated in one way or another! Post-talk, I had my Wacom Intuos3 out so I invited attendees to try it out. As it was still hooked up to the projector, everyone got to see what the others were drawing.

As you can see, we had some interesting results~

Twas lots of fun to be had by all~ :D Additional photos are up in our flickr gallery!

Hakai-Trio.jpgAlso, today I'm happy to present the last of my week of guest strips! The artist requests to be just announced as "Hakai" - but she's an aspiring manga-ka here in Hawaii. I met Hakai back in 2005, when she was in an active doujinshi circle called "THANKS!" with her fellow high school students. Together, they printed calendars and short comics which they exhibited at past Kawaii Kons.

Thanks Hakai for your hard work this week!

Lastly, just a quick announcement that our next scheduled talks are for Waikiki-Kapahulu Library at 10:30am and Liliha Library at 1pm this Saturday! We will be bringing our books and pups along for the ride, so attendees can purchase them from us directly! (Save on tax and shipping!)

Thanks so much to everyone who came to see us thus far! Next week will prove to be a super hectic one as we will be traveling to the Big Island, Kauai, and Maui - three days in a row... I may have to post our report for those on Friday. o_o; We'll see~

Have a great weekend everyone!
