Sharing the Love - Pup-style!

0 Ish Good!

I'm a bit behind on my posts - this one in particular is one has been a long time coming!

We've had some really awesome nods from various artists on both Twitter and deviant Art~ I just wanted to take some time to properly introduce and thank them!

This one's a little long, so follow me behind the cut!

FA-HamukoAnpan.jpgFirst off is Hamuko, who also goes by "Maki Sinjyo". She's an amazing shoujo manga artist and illustrator from Japan. (Please check out her wonderful illustrations!) Her style fondly reminds me of the golden age of shoujo manga/anime with the large "galaxy eyes" and giant sausage-curls, a style I wish I saw more of in this day and age! ^_^

In her blog, she occasionally draws ラクガキ, or "graffiti" with a drawing program. We were surprised to see Anpan one day! XD

Isn't Anpan cute? ^__^!

Hamuko also suffers from fibromyalgia and is very sensitive to light touch. (Which makes drawing sometimes difficult.) So we're especially touched to see Anpan pop up in her blog~ :D

Jarmo-FinnStripPreview.jpg Today, Anpan and Nemu also made guest appearances in Jarmo's "FINN Strip". (Please note that not all of his strips are kid-friendly, so please view at your own risk!)

Jarmo is an active member on various webcomic forums and recently started his own detailing his own personal adventures as a Finn in his own webcomic. His strips range from "aggressively random" to quirky, but are very much "Jarmo" in personality and style.

He also put up his own short review of our second nemu*nemu volume as an accompanying blog entry to his strip.

Bento Box Bobby!

And last, but not least - Bento Box Bobby!

We met Bobby B. at Fanime 2008 when he approached me at our booth with some questions about our comics. He returned the next day with an amazingly detailed drawing (as seen in the photo!) of our characters and some random thoughts they generated! (You can check out more of his works at his dA gallery - see if you can spot the nemu*nemu fanarts! :D)

He is an aspiring comic artist, as well as an avid youtuber who creates his own segments.

In fact, you can even catch me in one of his segments:

And yes. I make funny faces unintentionally. XD

Well, that's a screen-full! Thanks again to Hamuko, Jarmo, and Bobby B. for their drawings of our characters! We're always thrilled to see how others see/interpret our characters. ^_^v

What is "graffiti" in Japan? Is it just rough sketches or is it more like American "graffiti"?

Hamuko: Anytime! I am very thankful you took the time to draw Anpan! :D

Kaiki: "Rakugaki" roughly translates to "graffiti".. but I think it means something more along the lines of rough scribbles than "graffiti" as we know it in the US. ^^

↑ talking anpan and nemu in real-life doll form. that would be the COOLEST EVER.
