This is the perfect strategy for my math test tomorrow! XD
Kinda disappointed that you'd just grab a joke like that and make it into a comic.
Plus, you really make Kana look stupid here.
I disagree. Obviously, I think she's just trying to be a bit of a smart alec even though she knows that isn't correct, which fits her character perfectly.
Besides, all short comics like this are simple little jokes with real-life inspiration.
Kana being the one doing the question in the first place.
And yeah, sure, but that doesn't mean they have to be a standard joke just appropriated and dropped into the setting.
Just to be clear, there was no intentional "appropriating of a standard joke" by myself or Audra.
There are 6 billion people in the world and humor is universal. I'm sure there are coincidences of people telling similar punchlines/jokes all the time. Not to mention that this has probably happened to teachers all around the world at one time or another.
It wasn't meant as an attack. I just usually like the comics here because they're something a little different, and they're cute. I've just seen this particular joke used so much over the years, and something like that happening seemed so out-of-character for this comic that I felt inclined to mention it.
I feel inclined to respond at this point~
I appreciate your honest response~ This particular punchline isn't something new, but I felt it was pretty indicative of just how Anise thinks.
In short, in this strip, she's putting her 2 cents in where it honestly doesn't belong. It's assumed (never clearly mentioned) that Kana is in a higher math level than Anise... and Ani is just pointing out what seems the obvious answer to her. ^^;
Most chapters are thematic and this one is perhaps a little more "mundane" and subtle. ^^
That's what I feel like doing every day when I have math homework... DX
KANA: Thanks for the homework help, Ani.
ANI: No problem! Math is easy!
KANA: Only, that's not what they meant.
ANI:
ANI: WHAT?????!?!?!
KANA: They mean SOLVE for X.
ANI: I did! I found X! It's right THERE! (points)
KANA: They want to know the value of X, not where it is on the paper.
ANI: ...
ANI: I knew that.
Oh Wow. I just saw the same thing on an demotivational poster a few minutes ago. lawls

3-4-5 triangle! omg, i still remember that from geometry....7 years ago?
All I remember is x = sqrt(3^2+4^2) ^^
Yeah, in geometry, they made us memorize a few right triangles so we won't have to keep doing the pythagorean formula thingy.
lol this joke is ollld. its been around the internet for years.
I remember doing this too...about over 25 years ago. Excellent page.
Ah, as old and childish as it gets. Silly Ani.
Great strip, can't wait for the next one.
Lol! So Funny! We were taught NOT to do that!
Hey, I was right! The "Wait- wha?"s continue! Great comics, I'm always excited to see them, tee hee.
HAHAH I LOVE THIS JOKE!
I just saw that joke the other day! XD Never gets old though, and it gets even funnier with Ani and Kana.
(somehow, though, I would expect Anpan or Nemu to do that)
That joke has never gotten old~
Those type of situations happen with my friends a whole lot, though I'm always in Kana's position...
I'm doing this in math as we speak, I wish it was that simple!
This is the perfect strategy for my math test tomorrow! XD

When I took that test, it was "Find *for* X".
And, yes, I *still* got it wrong...
... i dont know how to do this O_o XD
I just read the whole archive from the very beginning. Took a long time but it was worth it. I Love this it's SO CUTE!! Gonna go to bed now though :P
