[Event Report] Manga Mayhem!

1 Ish Good!

So today was Manga Mayhem at the Contemporary Museum in Makiki!

Manga Mayhem!

Although the event started around 10am, I got there a little closer to noon since I had some stuff to do during the morning.

It was my first time at the museum, and it's quite nice up there! A great view of the city, lush greenery, and a couple exhibits I didn't quite have a chance to check out. (But that just gives me another excuse to head back there later~ :D)

Manga Mayhem!

Things were bustling where I arrived - Roy Chang had his portfolio review and art advice table set up while MangaBento and Jon J. Murakami had their tables of activities and goods going. I also arrived right around the time they started their first of the two comic art competition that I had the privilege of helping judge. :D

Manga Mayhem!

My presentation started around 1pm and went a little long due to some technical difficulties. But, it was a lot of fun - I got to test out the usefulness of my iPad with Keynote. Hopefully my slides were visible with the glossy screen!

Had a lot of fun chatting with the fellow artists and meeting new and familiar faces throughout the day~ :D

I also had a sign-up sheet for an upcoming workshop/demo of sorts to be held at Hawaiian Graphics in August. If you are interested, contact us via e-mail and we will add your name to our mailing list. It's completely free and Hawaiian Graphics is kind enough to provide all the art supplies needed. More details, including a firm date and time are still being worked out, so expect more news around the beginning of August!
