Not Quite Pollo by Lori Grant
panel 1: Kana and Nemu enjoy a leisurely stroll across a small red bridge with over a stream.
Kana: This is such a nice day, isn't it, Nemu?
panel 2: They hear a sound that startles both of them!
Nemu: Oh NOES!!!
SFX: SPLASH
Ducky: VAK! VAK! VAK!
panel 3: Down in the stream is a tiny duck swimming around in the water! Kana and Nemu have a look see.
Nemu: ISH DAT POLLO?!
Ducky: fap! fap! fap!
panel 4: Nemu gives Kana a worried look...
Kana: It's okay Nemu, That's not Pollo... It's a baby duck! And ducks love water...
Nemu: Ish NOT Pollo...?
panel 5: Nemu thinks about what Kana said for a bit.
Nemu: ??????
panel 6: Then cheerfully proclaims:
Nemu: ... ish a WATER Pollo!
panel 7: The little duck agrees!
Ducky: Vak.

I get the pun but ... I was told that Pollo was pronounced as Poyo? ^^; (Or was I duped?)
Maybe it was an inadvertent pun? I took it as meaning a water Pollo as opposed to the air Pollo that Nemu knows. Presumably there are also flightless land Pollo and whatever other elements Pollo bends.
Because otherwise the assumption is that someone wasn't paying attention to the fact that Pollo hangs out in Enchilada-land.
Uh .... the pun is supposed to be water polo, I believe. At least, that's what I understood which is why I was stating that I think it's pronounced as poh-yoh not poh-loh
Also, Avatar fan? :D
I was betting that Lori Grant was a) an Avatar fan, and b) took Spanish.
And you're betting that Lori Grant a) made a deliberate pun and b) did not take Spanish.
Wish we could get this settled.

Don't know if this was planned this way, but this is good timing as this last weekend was Doc & Lori's anniversary! I think they'll get a kick out Lori's work being feature here.
