Here are some tips on caring for your own stuffed animal pals!

Keep your buddies clean by wrapping them in a small dish or hand towel when out and about. It's also helpful to brush them using a good, soft tooth brush.

Should they get soiled in any particular area, try spot-cleaning them first with a mixture of mild soap and water. Make sure the area is throughly rinsed and dried before continuing on any adventures!

However, if your stuffed animal gets dirty beyond the point of spot-cleaning, it might be time for a spin in the "botcha" machine.

Some basic rules for caring for Nemu and Anpan Stuffed Toys (You can also use this for other stuffed animals too!):

1. Make sure your buddy can go into the washing machine! Check the label first (if they have one). NOTE: 3rd Generation Anpan and Nemu (currently in the Nemu Shop) are machine washable. (1st and 2nd gen pups should be spot cleaned as their fur texture may change.)

2. VERY IMPORTANT! Remove their scarves before washing and wash them separately if they need to be cleaned. Hand-washing them in cold water with laundry detergent and hang-drying the scarves will do the trick.

3. For tougher looking stains, you can use concentrated spot-cleaners like Spray-n-Wash or Shout and let it soak in for a few minutes.

4. Find a pillow case. Put your stuffed animal inside and tie the opening into a knot. Doing this will protect your buddies fur, and any other fragile parts such as button eyes and embroidered parts from getting damaged.

5. Set your botcha machine to the lowest, most gentle setting and use cold water.

6. You'll also want to use a gentle detergent such as Woolite or Delicare. Be sure to follow the directions on the detergent and use only the amount you need. We don't advise using fabric softener.

Once the wash is done take your stuffed buddy out of the pillow case and inspect him for any damage. Hopefully he made it through the wash OK!

Next up! The "Wheel of Hot"!

You can opt to hang or line-dry the pups, but they'll be ultra soft and comfy after a ride in the dryer. Keep the pups in the bag for most of the cycle and take them out periodically to check if they're completely dry.

Hopefully the pups will be nice and clean and shooper soft!
