Anpan: Ish PIZZA?
Nemu: Ish GRILL'D CHEEZ?
panel 3: The flight attendant hands them the complimentary meal which is...
Flight Attendant: Breakfast burrito?
panel 4: They got their hopes up too high.
Anpan: Yuck.

I guess it depends how hungry you are. Other than bitter mellons, I could probably even eat that.
Most flights I try to bring something that will keep during the flight, like hand rolls or a dry subway sandwich -- but it's particular tough when you have an early morning flight.. which are most flights to Hawaii. XD;;
For our 10hr direct flight from NYC to HNL, it was almost painful waiting for the food service, which was sort of delayed due to air turbulence. XD;
I've never had a in-flight meal, just apple juice.
Ah~ usually shorter flights (or all "economically-priced" flights, nowadays) seem to only serve a drink and either nuts, crackers or cookies.
We fly a minimum of 5 hours from Hawaii to the California, so some flights offer a meal (or suggest passengers to buy their own before they get on the plane.) ^^
The best in-flight meal I ever had was a chicken salad pita sandwich. It was surprisingly filling.
The worst... probably a lifeless sandwich that had cheese in it. Being hungry and allergic to dairy didn't help. :(
Wow -- pita sammich? I haven't had one of those yet on a flight! :3
Often-times sandwiches on our flights have a humungous burger bun and dried up meat and cheese... and almost always are turkey. XD; I sometimes bring along a bag of potato chips so I can stuff it under the meat and give it a little crunch. ♥
'87 United Airlines flight to Hawaii to see relatives...Sweet n'Sour Mahi Mahi with rice pilaf, garden salad, sweet bread roll from King's Bakery and choice of Hawaiian Sun juice or other canned beverage..... But on my return trip to the California, UA gave me a Pastrami sandwich w/baked fries, fruit salad and a canned soda... Big difference in selection (^_^)
Wow ~ I kinda remember those days. I think salads are relegated to international service or first class. LOL. (Which is kinda sad, because I really miss eating fresh stuff on the flight.)
Lately, everything has been "steam-able" foods, like "frittatas" - or what I call a fancy omelette, dry curry pastas, the aforementioned "burrito/wrap", and rice pilaf... or the usual turkey sandwich.
Admittedly, the food has gotten better over the past year... but it's a far cry from what it used to be back in the day. T_T;
BLASPHEMY!!! BREAKFAST BURRITOS RULE ALL!!
The breakfast burrito we had on our flight isn't bad, but it's sometimes hit or miss. I don't like the orange muffin that came with it. If it were chocolate or some other flavor, maybe i'd enjoy the entire meal.
Omni Air is the worst. They served us ice cream sandwiches that were frozen rock solid. You couldn't even cut into them with the serrated plastic knife. And when it started defrosting it didn't get any softer, it just turned to liquid. I was so bummed out. I really wanted ice cream sandwich!
@Kitsy, just a mini-garden salad with shredded Iceberg lettuce & carrots, 2 cherry tomatos, 1 slice of cucumber... all crammed into a small bowl 1/2 the size of a Cup of Noodle cup... Only dressing options were Italian or Ranch...
Awwwww, Anpan & Nemu didn't get the ever so treasured bag of in-flight peanuts...
