Intermission Comic #4!

Almost there!! Or are they??

Thanks for everyone who responded to my previous post about airline food! I'm glad we're not alone when it comes to... um.. "memorable" meals en route. ♥

Now... what was your longest trip to date?

Longest flight for me was 10 hours from Hawaii to the NYC/NJ... + 2 hours to Canada after a 3 hour layover... D: Or 6 hours from Hawaii to Vancouver and another 5-6 to Toronto. I guess it depends how you like to handle the suffering -- all at once or separated into a couple chunks. XD;

    Longest flight was from Hawaii to Greensbro, NC was an interesting flight. I don't really remember how the food was but I think it was ok.

    Last year I went to Hong Kong and the ride back home consisted of, I think, a 4 hour flight from Hong Kong to Narita, a 7 hour layover at the Tokyo airport, and then a 6 hour or so flight back to Hawaii.

    I had several 16-hour flights from Chicago to Seoul... Waaaaay too long to be on an airplane!

    Luckily I've never been on a super long flight, the longest was a 4 hour flight to California. I was about 8 at the time tho, so it felt like forever!

      Totally hear you! My first "long" flight wasn't until I was in 5th grade when my family travelled to California/Vegas. I had been on shorter inter-island flights before -- but those were never longer than 45 minutes. XD;

    My longest flight to date was from Hawaii to NY. It was also my first red-eye, coupled with sitting in the middle set of seats (mind you, I'm a window seat person). Not exactly the most fun I've had on a plane, since I had issues falling asleep D: I think my second longest has to be Hawaii to Narita/Hiroshima. 8 hours, then maybe an hour layover, then another few hours (we were too tired to really stay awake at that point). Honestly, I prefer handling the suffering in chunks; I go a bit insane and grumpy if I take it all at once.

      I think it also depends on the situation -- I was on a 10 hr flight from Newark to HNL and this toddler was throwing high-pitched screaming tantrums thru-out the entire flight. I was also flying solo which made the whole experience that much more miserable.

      But then I flew the 10 hr flight from HNL to JFK with my parents and that wasn't bad at all. It was long, but quiet in my area despite it being a full flight.

    Vancouver CAN to Auckland NZ, then Auckland to Christchurch NZ. Roughly 14hrs. Sleep was impossible (22hr time zone difference; they are 5 hours 'behind' my home town, but a day ahead.), but got to watch lots of great movie though!

      Great movies certainly do help the time pass by faster! XD One of our flights to California, they were showing one of the Twilight movies. I didn't pay for the headphones -- so watching the movie mute made for interesting made-up conversations. XD

    Where are they going?

  • ichigoiruka18

    I don't remember the specifics, but I was going to Atlanta for a conference/convention thing thing for college students. It was Honolulu to Denver (like 7-8hrs) plus a 1hr or so layover, and then another 3 or so hours from Denver to Atlanta....and the same route gong back home.

    The longest straight flight was from Honolulu to Newark/New York area.

    I actually prefer to travel in chunks rather than 1 long flight because it gives you time to walk around, stretch your legs, and see what other airports around the country/world look like......and it's nice because, during layovers, you can find *decent* food XD
