Oh the things you see at Comic Con. XD
I ran into Andy Dick on a trip to San Fransisco when i was 17. My brother pointed him out and we were so surprised it was him. He was just waiting around outside a restaurant. He was really nice.
Oh how neat! That reminds me how Scott saw Rene Auberjonois at a Corner Bakery (or was it Panera Bread? He probably knows better) in SoCal -- we only caught quick glimpses since we didn't want to bother him. XD;
I met Leslie Feist once. She's a nice lady. :)
Do you guys ever make it out to New York Comic Con?
Not yet! They recently opened flights direct from Hawaii to JFK, so I won't say never to NYCC, but it's still a tough show for us to get to. ^^
However I will be trying again for TCAF in 2013 -- but I'll likely be doing the show solo.
hahahhahah
I met the cast of Hawaii five obecause they shot a couple of scenes at my school and I was on the news team.
Lucky! :D That must have been neat! ^^
At this most recent Comic Con, a co-worker pointed out that Seth Green was walking past our booth. I didn't realize it was him because 1) he was hiding his face under a hat and 2) I never realized how short he was. XD
I also saw author John Scalzi mingling with a few of his friends/peers outside one of the hotels while I was on the way to dinner with a friend.
My final encounter at SDCC was with Scott Pilgrim artist Bryan Lee O'Malley. I'd been trying to get his autograph but wasn't able to make it into any of the signings, but through a series of Tweets, he took the time to stop by our booth and he autographed and drew a sketch in a book of his that I had bought on Preview Night.
I hear Seth Green often walks the floor in the mornings before the doors open and stops by the Peanuts booth near Small Press. Who knew! XD
I met Vonda McIntyre at InConJunction several years ago. I had read and enjoyed her novelization of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and told her so.
Nice~! :D
I can't say I've met anyone too famous. I was able to see Frank DeLima in person (he gave several talks at my schools over the years) and "Uncle" Mufi at a Boy Scout anniversary dinner. I didn't realize he was that tall! Otherwise, no one really special outside of the 808. :/
That reminds me! I've seen Frank de Lima a couple times at Longs over the years. XD Also Paula Akana (from KITV) at Target.
Oh nice xD Sorry, I have a horrible memory, and I don't want to sound like I'm bragging or anything D: But I think my family and I were on the same flight as Robi Kahakalau on our way to NY xD And I met Jake Shimabukuro once; my 3rd grade teacher somehow knows him personally and he came in to do ukulele for our class Christmas CD. He's an interesting guy. Almost got Weldon Kekauoha to play for my halau this year D: I blame Hawaii syndrome (where the "6 degrees of separation" is cut down to 3 at most)
I was at a... Christian-y Concert where the entrance fee was $10 a person.
and while there I took a group photo (twice, once by myself and second time with a friend with me) with Group 1 Crew, also at the end of the concert was Mercyme singing songs along with I can only Imagine! was an awesome night for the most part.
whoops, there's no edit button so here's a correction of the above
MercyMe singing songs, such as one of their well known songs "I Can Only Imagine"
Doesn't that make the event that much more awesome? :D
I think I know of the MercyMe song -- they play it quite often on one of our popular radio stations here in Hawaii~ ♥
