panel 1: Anpan sits upon the dog house with a menu and candle light.
Anpan: Hrmm~ da ricotta & herb shpread shounds nyamas...
panel 2: He debates what appetizer to dine on.
Anpan: So does da panko-crusted shpinach artichoky poppers! How 'bouts da soup du jour and da hearts of romaine salad?
panel 3: Anise Brown comes by and gives him the bad news.
Anise: I already told you. All we have is leftover tuna casserole.
panel 4: Anpan's not convinced.
Anpan: So wat? No appetizers?!

Oh boy can I relate to this comic today...leftover tuna casserole is EXACTLY what we had for dinner last night! XD LOL Poor Anpan! XD LOL
Ohhhh, you made me remember my birthday meal(s).... It was my 21st but the highlight was so very much the food. Red wine butter with house bread, house-made ricotta with honeyed almonds and raisins.... Then bufala mozzarella which was probably the closest I've ever come to cheese nirvana.... (And now I'm drooling. Urgh. I would kill for more of that butter and bread and cheese!!!) The guava gelato on the way to the show was almost too much though. Evil gelato place - they made their own waffle cones, and the smell was simply unbelievable.
