#21 Market Club Cards
Ahoy! It's been a while since I last posted a comic short... not so much that I didn't want to post, but rather I had a lot more pressing deadlines these past weeks. Scott and I are heading out on a trip later this month and I had to make sure as much of my work was done before we left. ^^;
Now back to the "story"~
It seems most everywhere I shop, there are so-called "rewards cards". The more you shop, the more points you accumulate. As an added bonus, the check-out clerk will often try to address you properly before handing you the receipt.
I know it's to give that personal touch, but... with the name "Audra Ann Furuichi", I've had waaay too many sad attempts to count.
Fur-nuchis... Furu-chi... Free-cheese?
The worst to date was at the doctor's office. The nurse called me "Adtron".
I have no idea how that came to be, but Scott and I still laugh about it to this day.

Waaaah! I miss Bon Dances! And Hatsumode! Sigh...the memories.......
That was me during school with walking pneumonia. They put me on codine cough syrup >....
Aww, they're both so cute. Wish der cutenesh....
Scott can't eat sushi right? It has raw fish...right? 0_______________o...
Well, he's a magical pup. Obviously. XD...
*to the tune of Party all the time by Eddie Murphy/Rick James* Anpan wants to eat Pizza all the time...
In most cases the parents aren't necessary and I really don't think about them. It's only in these o...
Yeah, I guess they really don't need to include the parents though... Haha, love that last panel!...
So how do you you say it then?
Ha, that's happened before! :D Yes, how do you prnouce your name then?
I know it's not the same, but they always spell my first name wrong in Starbucks, that I just say random food words that sound like names like "Apples", or "Vanilla" or "Pie", or "Isaw" (chicken intestine). 0_O
@Kitty: *laugh* I understand. When we go out to eat, I just use Scott's name. Or "Ann". "Audra" causes way too much confusion. XD;
Bendago & KK: My name?
"Aw-draw Ann Foo-roo-eet-chee"
I know the feeling. My surname is Sjostrom, pronouced "Shoe-strum". The number of variants I have heard is staggering.
I always get weirded out when I check out at Safeway. They always say "Thank you Mr. _______ or Ms. _______."
B-but... what if you don't want everyone in line to know your name?!
My last name (Quantrall) gets pronounced "Kwan-TRAWL", Kon-TRAWL", "Kon-Troll" and "Kon-TRAIL", among others.
It's pronounced "Kwantrull".
Every year... Someone will say it. Hesler, I honestly don't know where the "i" in "Heisler" went! The plague of the school system, pronunciation fails left and right. It's pronounced "Hi-slur" for the record, at least my mothers name is even more awesome... I'll miss you Kaisa... T_T
At my local club store, the employees are nice enough to just say "Thank you....sir" when they realize they can't pronounce your name =D
Hee hee. I feel your pain. My boyfriend and I have.. unique last names. It only bugged me in school when we had a substitute teacher.(my last name is so long, my first name won't fit on the page)
example:
Sub teacher: **peering intently at the attendance sheet** Jan Kilts-Lepine (athough she pronounces it lepeen)
me: **Eyes glazed over.** Ehh....
Hey, bro. Now you know why I didn't go back to my maiden name after I got my divorce...
