nemu*nemu is created by two busy bodies who wanted to spread a little joy through a comic strip.

Audra Ann Furuichi (aka kyubikitsy) is the one who draws and colors the pretty pictures while Scott Yoshinaga (aka kimonostereo) does just about everything else around here. Both collaborate on the story line (with a little help from some stuffed friends).

The two currently reside in Honolulu, Hawaii where they created KimonoKitsy Studios, LLC.

As fate has it, both Audra and Scott have had their own comic strips published in the college newspaper during their years at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In 1999, Audra won the Scripps-Howard Foundation Charles Schulz College Cartooning Award for her semi- autobiographical strip, “CultureSHOCK!”.

Audra writes, pencils, inks and colors the comic, while Scott assists with writing, lettering, product design and the website. They made such a great team, they decided to get married.

nemu*nemu debuted online on April 1, 2006. In September of 2007, Audra took the big leap and made producing nemu*nemu her full-time job.
