panel 1: Anpan is relaxed and sleeping...
Anpan: Z
panel 2: But suddenly he wakes up!
panel 3: He sits up, but realizes Nemu isn't in the room with him any longer.
Anpan: Nemu?
panel 4: He gets up and wanders into the living room.
Anpan: NEMU? ANI? KANA MAMA?
panel 5: He goes into another room to see if anyone is home.
Anpan: Heyo?
panel 6: He pulls the curtain back...
Anpan: Ish dis JOKE? Ish everybody hiding?
panel 7: and the door makes a sound...
Anpan: Eh?
SFX: CHK
panel 8: Anpan takes a closer look...
Anpan: Heyo?
panel 9: THEN SUDDENLY....
Anpan: WAT?!

It seems likely that they live in Japan. They certainty do not live in Hawaii as there was a whole adventure about traveling to Hawaii, that even had a cameo by Kimonostereo =D
I'm, a latecomer to the comic, read all the back strips, and *still* don't know where they're supposed to live. So I winged it.
