Kawaii Kon 2015 Report~
Hey folks!
First off, now that Kawaii Kon is over and done, I can -finally- get back to the comic. The past couple weeks I've been juggling various obligations (both con-related and not), so it's good to finally get back to drafting out these pages!
Before I get into the nitty gritty of the event, the nemu*shop has been updated with just about all the new artwork originals, prints, sticker sheets, and limited edition kimono kitsuke card set! First come, first served!

I've also sold out of the Anpan hats and Zen Pollo plush completely!
As for Kawaii Kon itself:
Our booth this year~! Layout is changing next year, so I don't know where we'll be located....
This year, the con had a very different feel for me. Instead of exclusively plugging nemu*nemu, I've started branching out to promote myself as an artist as well. This sort of lead to some confusion about my table layout, since I was sitting on the side doing this most of the con:
I took as many sketchcard requests as I could manage - which was, I must admit, a lot of fun~ I got a variety of requests from portraits to original characters to fan stuff I've never heard of before. I tend to underestimate the amount of time needed to sketch stuff out, so I appreciate everyone's patience with me. (I'm also thankful that my mom and mom-in-law came to man the table on Friday while Scott was at work so I could focus on drawing and signing books~!)
This was also the first year I head a -lot- of "I used to read this when I was a kid" in passing. Talk about surreal. O_O; As a creator, I completely forget that my readers grow up. Like this one:
I first met Rachel back when I was doing my first library tour in 2008 and had come to see us at our booth just about every year since. Now she's away at college studying comics. :D
There were other fantastic moments like this where Tanya brought Eryn (and Nemu) to visit us and gifted us some great drawings of the pups:

And the ever spirited Noelani visiting us on Friday as Ani:

(Yes, this is a photo of a photo.. since my mom-in-law took it on her digital camera and printed out copies for us...)
But if you'd like a summary of all my days, Derrin (I can never remember how to spell his name. @____@;;;) always requests a sketchcard reflecting each of my con days. I think he has a better record of my event memories than I do. LOL;
My weekend, in a nutshell. :D

So Kawaii Kon was my only major event planned for 2015, aside from McCully-Moiliili Library's MiniCon in September. I'm refraining from all local craft fairs this year so I can re-focus on my comic and projects - I especially have a lot of catch-up to do due to my long hiatus last year. ^_^;
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the table~! You helped keep my spirits high this past weekend! ♥
I look forward to seeing you again next year! ★
