I'm back with a new unboxing of the Loot Anime crate for January - the theme: EQUIP!

Alright! With this being my second Loot Anime crate (you can read my review of the ENCHANT crate here), I have a much better idea of what to expect - and admittedly, my expectations were considerably higher this time around.

Here's a look at the inital unboxing - unedited and about 8-9 minutes long:

Kill La Kill 片太刀鋏 (Katatachi Basami)/ Scissor Blade Shirt:

This shirt alone made the box awesome for me~~ Scott and I are fans of Trigger and Kill la Kill is one of our -must have- series. The design is fantastic and the screen-printing is solid. I'm totally wearing this shirt. :3

Akame ga Kill/ Tote Bag:

AgK is another series I haven't completed yet - I'm about halfway through the series on Crunchyroll. But - I know enough that the weapons displayed are Imperial Arms of the main group of protagonists, the Night Raid. It's a nice, basic design and the tote itself is quite utilitarian. There are no gussets to flatten the bottom of the tote, so it's best for flat objects like books. However, since this is made of a thinner canvas-type material, I might actually deconstruct this into a waist apron... :3

Dragonball Z Saiyan Scouter - Red Edition:

Admittedly, I have not really watched Dragon Ball. I am only familiar with the basics. But, I'm quite familiar with this contraption as I've seen it at conventions for the past 3-4 years. :D
It's pretty ingenious how they made it - it comes in 3 parts - the ear piece, the eye piece, and the foldable headband. Everything comes in a small box and easily snaps into place. It takes a little adjusting to fit to the face, but a-ha! Insta-cosplay~ XD

Enchilada also had some fun with it after, as you saw in the preview...

Steins;Gate manga volume 1:
R16-EQUIP-006.png
If you are into time-travel science fiction-type stories, I cannot recommend Steins;Gate more. This looks like an early release of the first volume of the manga adaptation, published thru Udon!

Short aside. I had heard about Steins;Gate a while ago, but kinda wrote it off as dating sim. (It's a visual novel - like Fate/Stay Night series) The anime series was released on blu-ray and the reviews were nothing short of stellar... so we binge-watched the first half of the story on Funimation. Scott was really dismissive of the first half, particularly by Okabe's antics. Then the finale of the first part happened and EVERYTHING CHANGED. We were having major trouble viewing the second half (something was wrong with Funimation servers and their mobile app at the time...) so we actually connected Scott's laptop and watched the rest by mirroring his screen to the Apple TV in the bedroom. We eventually bought it on Blu-Ray.

LOL.

So yeah. I highly recommend it~ ★ The anime is an excellent adaptation of the game, and so far, from what I've read, this is a great manga adaptation to kick off the series. Seriously. Check it out.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Rathalos Sword Pen Replica:

Another series I don't play or know much about, but a bunch of my friends do. ^^; However, this item was the star item from the box this time.

I gave it to Kikaida...

Which was then appropriated by Enchilada...

And somehow it ended up with Yotsuba...

And when I take it apart, it turns into a pen.

That has a nice finger rest when I draw...

Ahahaha~

Hi-Chew candy:

I love these~! These chewy candies are pretty much a workroom staple. My favorites being grape and strawberry. Although I can't help but try out all the random limited edition flavors when I catch them in the Japanese grocery shops here. :D

Loot Anime EQUIP charm:
R16-EQUIP-007.png
Out of all the items, I think I look forward to this one the most! It's an original charm, based on the current box's theme. I've been adding these to my handheld camera. :3

Loot Anime EQUIP Catalog/Poster:
R16-EQUIP-013.png
This momth, the featured artist is artist Roslee/Rosuuri~ This is the first I've seen of her artwork, so I searched out her websites. (Her DeviantArt is a good place to start.) While the poster of the month is amazingly dynamic, it doesn't do her usual take on colors justice!

Thoughts:

The EQUIP crate is a lot of fun - in a lot of unexpected ways. At first glance, I wasn't sure just what I'd do with some of the items... but those very items ended up being the most fun to play around with. XD Additionally, the box itself can be flipped inside out to make a really nice treasure chest... of which Enchilada made himself right at home in. :3
