End of an Era

panel 1: The door to the diner has a closed sign that says thanks for the years.
Toasty: It was a RECIPE for disaster... The economy took a hit and more folks decided to brown BAGUETTE instead of eat at the diner.

panel 2: There are bills on the floor of the diner... boxes on the counters.
Toasty: Even though the diner was still COOKIN'... it wasn’t making lots of DOUGH.

panel 3: Toasty and his crew sit idle on the counter.
Toasty: Before I knew it, the diner closed... and my crew was shut down. We were TOAST.

panel 4: Toasty is put into a box with other kitchen items.
Toast: Each of us got put away–one by one. Some of us got separated... All of us paid our dues, we did our THYME... was all that great food just a flash in the PAN?

panel 5: The chef is seen holding one of the boxes as they move out of the old diner. His wife sheds a tear.
Toasty: Was this our just DESSERTS?

panel 6: As the box closes....
Toasty: It was the end of an era.

panel 7: The pups are in suspense!
Toasty: That was the last time I saw the chef and my crew...
Pups: OH NOES!
